Digital Touch of Pancasila Spirit: Celebrating October 1, 2025, as a reflection of unity, patriotism, and Indonesia’s enduring values.

Jejaknesia.com - Pancasila Sanctity Day is rooted in a political tragedy that shook the nation — the September 30 Movement / Indonesian Communist Party (G30S/PKI) incident. On the night of September 30 until the early hours of October 1, 1965, seven high-ranking TNI officers and one middle-ranking officer were kidnapped and murdered by elements linked to the PKI and the Cakrabirawa Troops.

  • Lieutenant General (Posthumous) Ahmad Yani
  • Major General Raden Soeprapto
  • Major General Mas Tirtodarmo Harjono
  • Major General Siswondo Parman
  • Brigadier General Donald Isaac Panjaitan
  • Brigadier General Sutoyo Siswomiharjo
  • Second Lieutenant Pierre Andreas Tendean
Another victim was Ade Irma Suryani, the youngest daughter of General Abdul Haris Nasution, who became a tragic part of this event.

The bodies of the officers were found on October 4, 1965, in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta — a 12-meter-deep pit that later became a symbol of remembrance for the betrayal of Pancasila. From that tragedy, the government established October 1 as Pancasila Sanctity Day, to remind the people that Pancasila must never be shaken by any ideology that divides unity.

The Meaning of “Sanctity” in the Context of Pancasila

The word “sanctity” here is not mystical or magical. It means that Pancasila is the sacred foundation of the nation: non-negotiable, unchangeable unilaterally, and must be protected through the devotion of every citizen. By commemorating Pancasila Sanctity Day, the nation’s collective memory remains aware of the threats from ideologies that seek to replace Pancasila — that betrayal of the state ideology is not just a tragedy of the past, but a valuable lesson for the future.

Official Theme & Main Message 2025

For 2025, the official theme of Pancasila Sanctity Day is: “Pancasila, the Unifying Force Towards a Great Indonesia”

This theme reflects that Pancasila must remain the unifying force amid diversity — ethnicity, religion, culture, and language — all different, yet united by Pancasila’s values. With that strength, the nation moves toward the vision of “Great Indonesia,” a just, prosperous, and united country.

In the context of ceremonies and commemorations, this theme calls on all elements of the nation not only to remember history but to implement the values of Pancasila — social justice, unity, humanity, and diversity — in everyday actions.

Guidelines for the October 1, 2025 Commemoration Ceremony

The 2025 Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration will be held nationally, both at the central and regional levels, by government agencies, schools, and other institutions. Flag ceremonies will take place in their respective venues according to official guidelines.

Outline of the Ceremony Agenda

  1. General salute to the ceremony inspector
  2. Report by the ceremony commander: “the ceremony is ready”
  3. Moment of silence led by the inspector
  4. Reading of the Pancasila text
  5. Reading of the preamble of the 1945 Constitution
  6. Reading of the Pancasila pledge
  7. Reading of prayers
  8. Report by the commander: “ceremony concluded”
  9. Final salute to the ceremony inspector

The organization of the ceremony is entrusted to ministries, high state institutions, government bodies, and Indonesian representatives abroad or appointed officials. The goal: for all levels of the state apparatus to take part and internalize Pancasila in the spirit of nationalism.

Messages & Greetings for October 1, 2025

One simple yet meaningful way to celebrate is by sharing Pancasila Sanctity Day greetings through social media. Here are some examples you can use:

Twibbon: Digital & Creative Commemoration of Pancasila 2025

In the digital era, national days can also be celebrated through social media. One popular way is by using a twibbon — a digital photo frame with a specific message. People can choose free twibbon designs from platforms such as Twibbonize, apply them to their profile photos, and share them widely.

Examples of Twibbon Links 2025

Various reports mention that there are dozens, even up to 50, free Pancasila Sanctity Day 2025 twibbon links available for public use. Some examples include:

(Dan masih banyak lagi desain kreatif lainnya.)

How to Create & Apply a Twibbon

  1. Select one of the available twibbon links.
  2. Click the “Choose Photo” or “Upload Photo” button.
  3. Choose your photo and adjust the position (crop, move) to fit the frame.
  4. Once aligned, click “Crop” or “OK.”
  5. Download the resulting twibbon combined with your photo.
  6. Upload it to social media: Instagram, Facebook, X, WhatsApp, and others.
The process is relatively easy and can be done by anyone, including the younger generation and casual technology users. This way, public participation in the Pancasila Sanctity Day commemoration expands digitally.

As an observer, I see that the 2025 Pancasila Sanctity Day carries both challenges and opportunities. The challenge: Pancasila’s values are sometimes perceived as mere political jargon, not as something truly lived in everyday life. Yet the opportunity is huge: today’s young generation is highly active in the digital space. Through twibbons, greetings, and online campaigns, Pancasila’s values can “enter” social media feeds and form a positive collective narrative.

Especially amid polarization and misinformation, strengthening ideological awareness through creative — not dogmatic — means can be an effective strategy. The theme “Pancasila, the Unifying Force of the Nation” is very relevant: as society becomes increasingly divided by digital content, the state ideology must serve as common ground, not conflict.

However, commemoration must not stop at social media. The real challenge is how to integrate Pancasila’s values into education curricula, public spaces, government policies, and intergroup relations. If it remains only ceremonial and limited to twibbons, we lose its essence: Pancasila as a real guide for living.

Pancasila Sanctity Day on October 1 is not just a historical remembrance. It is a call for every generation to preserve, translate, and strengthen Pancasila in thought and action. In 2025, with the theme “Pancasila, the Unifying Force Towards a Great Indonesia,” we are invited not only to remember — but to act in building a just and united nation. Ceremonies, greetings, twibbons: these are mediums. What truly matters is how the values of social justice, humanity, unity, and diversity are implemented in policies, daily interactions, and mutual respect among citizens.

Hopefully, this article serves not only as reading material but as inspiration to nurture and uphold the meaning of Pancasila — so that it remains sacred in every heart, collective action, and the nation’s future.
